Christmas Concert with VOCALIUM
St Michael and All Angels Church, Urchfont, Devizes SN10 4QP
12th December 2026, 7.30 pm
Dale Webb, conductor
Gabs Damiani, organist
Gabs Damiani will be joining Vocalium in the beautiful village of Urchfont for a festive programme of seasonal choral music, accompanying the choir on the organ. Set in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, Urchfont provides a charming setting for an evening of Christmas music, with the village church offering a wonderful atmosphere in which to enjoy this special time of year.
The programme will feature around six or seven accompanied pieces, bringing together some much-loved Christmas favourites and less familiar gems. Highlights are expected to include William Mathias’s exuberant Sir Christèmas and Alleluya, a New Work Is Come on Hand, from his celebrated Ave Rex collection, alongside John Gardner’s lively Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day and William Archer’s joyful Make We Joy Now in This Fest. The programme will also feature three much-loved works by John Rutter: O Holy Night, The Shepherds’ Pipe Carol and Rejoice and Be Merry. From the spirited rhythms of traditional festive music to the warmth and beauty of more reflective melodies, the selection promises a varied and uplifting celebration of Christmas.
Gabs is delighted to be working with Vocalium for this occasion and looks forward to bringing these wonderful pieces to life through the combination of choir and organ. Whether you are a regular concertgoer or simply looking for an opportunity to enjoy some excellent live music in a beautiful village setting, this promises to be a lovely way to begin the Christmas season.
